Maanantai oli kansallinen vapaapaiva, ja saimme ilon viettaa sen tokiolaisten ystavien kanssa autoillen ja piipahdellen mielenkiintoisissa paikoissa, joihin muutoin tuskin olisimme tulleet menneeksi. Maantason ylapuolella moottoritiella ajellessamme mieleen juolahti, etta Tokio on kaupunki neljassa tasossa.

Mielenkiintoisen paivan lomassa soimme seitseman ruokalajin aterian hienossa kiinalaisessa ravintolassa Jokohamassa: pikkelsia, kevatkaaryleita, hoyrytettyja taytettyja taikinanyytteja (dumplings), ankkapaistia, lettuun kaarittya porsaanlihaa&riisilastuja, risottoa ja jalkiruokana mangokiisselia. Paatimme paivan arkkitehtuurin ulkomuseossa, eraanlaisessa Seurasaaressa, joskin uudemmin taloin.

That was also a nice trip to us, Anne. We also thanks to you and Juhani. The house we visit at last was the house of Kunio Maekawa built in 1942, and I felt myself the influence rather from Le Corbusier than from Charlotte Perian, when I saw his bedroom on the ground floor. The funiture is finely articulated and it reminds me of her other works.
